The archipelago of the Pitiusas islands, in addition to Ibiza and Formentera, is made up of more than 60 islets bathed by the warm, calm and transparent waters of the Mediterranean Sea.

Let's start with the first islet of Ibiza that is worth a visit (and a lot).

Tagomago

Listed as a Site of Community Interest (SCI) and belonging to a Natural Area of Special Interest (ANEI) within the Natura 2000 network, the islet of Tagomago is one of the most iconic of all Ibiza and Formentera.  

In addition to being an important nesting and breeding area for migratory birds (such as cormorants and Balearic shearwaters), the marine fauna is rich and promises a very good experience if you like snorkelling. 

On the other hand, Tagomago also has some curious anecdotes: did you know that it was here that the famous video clip of Kaoma's "La Lambada" was filmed, or that the Welsh national team player Gareth Bale proposed to his wife on this unique islet?

Espalmador

A must for any charter in Ibiza or Formentera. The islet of Espalmador is probably the ultimate expression of Mediterranean paradise. Crystal-clear waters, fine sand and an unparalleled sense of peace.

S'Espardell

The next islet we are going to talk about is s'Espardell. It belongs to the municipality of Formentera and is located a few kilometres from the islet of Espalmador. It is barely a kilometre and a half long and anchoring around it is totally prohibited, as it is a nature reserve of great ecological value.

Es Vedrà & Es Vedranell

They call it the "islet of secrets". Located right in front of the popular beach of Cala d'Hort, the legends and myths surrounding es Vedrà and es Vedranell are many and most bizarre. We are not going to confirm or deny that anyone has seen a UFO in the area, but we can tell you that the place is simply breathtaking.

Environmentally speaking, this islet (or rather, these islets) make up the Natural Reserve of es Vedrà, es Vedranell and the "Illots de Ponent". You can already get an idea of the wonders that you can find in its seabed...

Other islets of Ibiza and Formentera

In addition to Tagomago, es Vedrà and es Vedranell, the following islets also stand out on Ibiza:

• Ses Bledes: in the western part of the island of Ibiza, a small archipelago of islets whose importance lies in the fact that it is a passage for cetaceans.
• Sa Conillera: breeding area of the red-billed gull and home to an endemic species of lizard (or "sargantana").
• Ses Margalides: islets in the northwestern part of Ibiza that make up an extremely beautiful spot.
• Illa des Porcs: on Formentera, before reaching the islet of Espalmador.
• Illa de Casteví: in Formentera, to the southwest of the islet of Espalmador.
